I use one of these as a storage drive in my desktop. For my purposes this drive performs great, as it is used exclusively for storage and not for gaming. The drive represents great value but the trade-off: it's really slow. If you are not installing games off of this drive you will be okay.

I can't wait until drives come back down to the prices we saw 2 years ago ($70 per 2TB). These drives are great, but with the addition of the much faster WD20EZRX green drives, I would pass these over.

Get a 89.99 for 2Tb its a good deal. Im surprisly about how silent this hard drive is. Western Digital seems to build great HDD. Hope they will put more warranty on this kind.

Excellent quality for the price. An awesome, reliable 2 TB drive. I use it to store all my media files and I have never had a Western Digital drive fail on me yet, and I've had a lot of drives fail. If you need a large capacity hard drive it is absolutely worth it to spring a few extra bucks for a WD drive.

The unit I bought 6 months earlier had a 3-year warranty. The unit I just bought only has a 2-year warranty. In fact, the warranty is less than 2-years because it began 23 days before I purchased the drive. This makes me suspicious that WDC has quality control issues and therefore limiting the warranty.

Product Warranty
First 30 days limited warranty through NCIX.com. The remainder of the two year warranty is provided directly by the manufacturer.
Warranty length may vary per specific model. Western Digital Raptor and Caviar RE series enterprise drives are covered by a 5 year warranty. Caviar and Caviar Blue & Green desktop drives are covered by a 2 year warranty for OEM drives, and a 1 year warranty for Retail.
Warranty coverage for drives is covered by NCIX for the first thirty (30) days with the remainder of the warranty covered by Western Digital.
