The GIGABYTE X58A-OC is the world’s first motherboard designed specifically for overclocking. Bringing several new technologies together for the first time in one motherboard, the GIGABYTE X58A-OC has all the features overclockers have been asking for, making it easier than ever to take down world records. The GIGABYTE X58A-OC features a new VRM design called OC-VRM, which includes a combination of highly conductive POScaps, 50A rated MPFC (Max Power Ferrite Core) Chokes, and Driver-MOSFETs, which combined, are able to deliver higher current to the CPU, with better efficiency and lower temperature. OC-VRM also allows users to overclock the PWM frequency via an onboard switch, for real-time adjustment. When the CPU needs maximum power, users can raise the PWM frequency in order to deliver more current through this unique POScap and MPFC Choke design. In addition, GIGABYTE has specially chosen unobtrusive components and carefully designed their layout to make it easier and quicker than ever for extreme overclockers to insulate their boards.

OC-Touch enables overclockers to quickly and easily get the best performance from their system. With onboard OC-Touch buttons, users are able to manually raise and lower the CPU ratio, change BCLK settings, and even change BCLK stepping to either 1MHz or 0.3MHz. These changes can be made at any time whether in the BIOS, DOS, or Windows and in real-time without the need for rebooting, so that users can quickly fine-tune to find their CPU’s maximum frequency. The onboard 4G Ready button allows novice overclockers to automatically reach 4GHz, while advanced users can use it to get to 4GHz before continuing with OC-Touch to quickly find their CPU’s best margin. Onboard voltage measurement modules are also included to help users to conveniently monitor component voltages.

Dual CPU Power
Imagine a workstation class redundant (duplicated) power design on a desktop motherboard! GIGABYTE’s proprietary Dual Power Switching Technology allows CPU VRM power phases to split* evenly into 2 sets of power engines that operate in tandem. This allows 1 set of power phases to rest while the other is active as opposed to a traditional power design where all the power phases are always active. This board is the coolest board I have ever had the pleasure to build a PC with. Previous to this board I think the generally accepted "best bang for the buck" of mobos was the EVGA 750i FTW board, and that's what I replaced with this tank. Sure it doesn't have Firewire or good onboard sound or a lot of USB ports, but who cares? You can add all that stuff, this board looks, feels and performs like a quality board should. You can tailor it for your needs, and it has nothing you don't need. The main problem is of course the fact that it's a 1366 socket. That and it's crazy expensive when it's not on sale. I lucked out and got it for $149 after a $50 rebate, and even though I forgot to mail the rebate in time I would totally buy this board for $199 again. When was the last time someone was OK with not getting the rebate? That's how nice this board is!

I have this paired with a 990x which i overclocked to 4ghz using the 4G button and its very stable unlike the last board i had which had a setting for a 4ghz overclock but wasnt stable at all.

First 30 days limited warranty through NCIX.com. The remainder of the 3 year warranty is provided directly by the manufacturer.
Currently Gigabyte accepts end users’ requests on RMA service. Motherboards, Video cards, servers and Rackmount server boards carry three years limited warranty.
Warranty Effective On Date of Manufacture
Gigabyte determines warranty based on the manufacture date. The manufacture date can be verified by the serial number found on the product. The first four digits after "SN" determine the year and week of manufacturing date. For example:
"01)04719331729028(21) SN0213030585" represents the 13th week of 2002
RMA Request Procedures and Guidelines
All RMA request forms must be completed in order to obtain a RMA number
RMA request with missing or incorrect serial number(s) may result in a delayed process or a rejection of request
Any model discrepancy for received items may result in a delayed processing timeProducts received with no RMA number may delay processing or refusal (Gigabyte will not be responsible for items received without proper information)
No cross shipping or advanced replacements under any circumstances
Products will either be repaired or replaced at our discretion
Replacements may include new or refurbished products (Replacements will be for the exact or equivalent product)
Average turnaround time will be 2-3 business working weeks upon receipt (applies to quantities not exceeding 20 pieces)
If the information on your request varies from the actual item(s) received, RMA will be based on the actual item(s) received
