The TP-Link ADSL2/2+ Ethernet Modem (TD-8616) enables you to access a high-speed DSL Internet connection. It supports the latest ADSL2/2+ standards to provide higher performance (up to 24Mbps downstream) and longer reach from your Internet Service Provider´s (ISP) Digital Subscriber Line Access Multiplexer (DSLAM). You can also create a wired network to share your high-speed Internet connection by adding a multi-port router.
The TD-8616 includes a simple configarution tool and a Web-based Graphic User Interface (GUI) that enables you to easily modify settings to connect to a DSL Internet service. The conveniently located LED indicators let you quickly check the moden´s status and activity.
The TP-LINK TD-8616 is TR-067 compliant, ensuring that this device will work your Internet Service Provider´s infrastructure.

I've got 19MBps on it, very reliable so far, but i guess it doesn't last long. So far it didn't reboot itself like the old modem I had. for 25$ you can't complain! You get more than what you pay for!

Every other review that I read failed to mention that "feels cheap" meant that the rj-45 jack was so poorly fabricated that it would stay connected to the computer it was plugged into. About 5-6 painfully frustrating unplugging and replugging of the cable (had this issue with 3 different network cables) later... it would not connect at all.
I bought this modem in a hurry from my local shop. Unfortunately could not wait to get it from NCIX. I was having major connection problems that started out of the blue a couple weeks back. The prior Speedstream 4200 modem would no longer hold a connection. It was constantly dropping connection, no longer able to sync up with my ISP or would say it was connected but could not get online. After a few calls into tech support, I was asked to hook up my old modem to the demarcation point in my basement to rule out any wiring in the house being a problem. Sure enough the modem would not properly sync up there either so no line test could be done on my connection. It was suggested that perhaps the modem was at fault. After nearly 2 weeks without the internet I rushed to my local shop to pick up this modem. I really liked the price compared to the Thomson TN516 which is highly recommended but double the price. Since I was not 100% sure the modem was the culprit I did not want to waste anymore money than I had to on an item I may not need but could not return. Luckily this modem is working great and saved me nearly $30 in the process. I very much recommend this modem and only give it 4/5 due to my inability to log into the modem like I should be able to to change settings should I see fit. Save yourself the money and get this over the higher priced Thomson.
