For a 500GB drive, it's pretty fast. Larger drives have larger sized platters so they're faster, but for this particular build, I didn't need a lot of space.
using this in my 2 year HTPC, does what it suppose to do, store stuff! 500gb after format it's like 4 hundred and something-ish, it's pretty fast for a platter sata2 drive
