Havent tried remote access from outside my home network. But within my home network - the speeds are great (faster than what you would expect). The features for the media sharing is also great. You can easily connect your ps3/xbox or another computer to play media files straight off the drive.
This is used a network drive for a Sonos music network setup. It is the only device serving music and works perfectly. Nothing flashy, the software is fairly well designed for what is required.

Overall this is a great NAS for the cost. It does what it is advertised. The only problem that i have with it is the itunes server sometimes freezes and needs to be hard booted to fix problem.

I really like this NAS. Lots of software interfaces and also has some backup software with options. It is very cool running, extremely quiet and 4x as fast as USB.
