This thing is pretty awesome for a budget build. Not exactly for gaming but you could get away with quite a bit. The L2 cache is a little low but I would easily recommend this processor for any budget build.

Really like this processor; I got lucky and was able to unlock the 4th core on mine, so I've got a quad core 3.2Ghz. I haven't tried to OC it yet to be honest, but only because it's actually doing quite well without it.
I purchased two as part of an office PC upgrade project. This CPU performs faster then required for the type of workload it receives, while running very cool and quiet. Would recommend.

This day and age, processors are rarely a bottleneck so you can afford to go cheap on them to a degree. With this, you get a fairly decent clock speed, and a third core just to differentiate from the common dual core requirement of most games. As an added bonus, my motherboard unlocked a fourth core - a quad core at 80 bucks seems pretty good to me

This is still the best value for a budget gaming or general purpose PC. Great performance at such a low price you just can't go wrong. Didn't bother unlocking the 4th core or overclocking as the stock speeds are more than enough for what my wife would need. Another thing I love about AMD cpus are the ease of installing their stock coolers compared to the Intel ones. Easy locking clips>cheap plastic push pins.

pretty good cpu, but no the best. most games only require 2 cores, so i got this after the recent price drop. i was also able to unlock this cpu to 4 cores and is stable.
