Bottom line, if you have the option to build a new notebook with the Seagate 500GB Momentus XT, go for it. If you have an existing notebook and want to replace its hard drive for a SSHD, you can expect a little uplift here and there, but temper your expectations.

Really fast,and feels like a ssd. I got it for a replacement for my 2 year old hp g72 laptop because the hard drive broke. It boosted my laptops speed by a lot. I also love the price because i got it for only 39.99 on boxing day!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is a fine Harddrive it works the way a harddrive should be expected to and it has 4gb of ssd storage that will apparently only get make it fasterin the long run I honestly cant see anything wrong with that. If I did have to find some sort of fault it would be that I had issue loading a OS to it in an old laptop but it worked well in my main.

This has been a good purchase so far, it's very fast compared to my old hitachi 500GB 7200rpm laptop drive. It's much faster and doesn't use anymore power. The seek noise is louder on this drive however, and some have complained regarding the reliability issue of this drive. But it has been working fine for me so far.

well i like how small it is and it is quite fast as of now , a lot better than my old seagate 32mb cache one i got 2 years ago which i threw out lately cuz its broken lol it crashes my PC every 5 mins or even at the start of bootup.
