It really rocked my PC for all that time... Boot time and access times are great, the day-to-day use is wonderful, everything is so quick! Perfect to install your OS into (and have a 1TO HDD for storage)

Used for 2 years and it is still going strong. Never experienced any performance decrease after 4-5 secure erases yet. I have it in Raid 0 and is FAST!

I bought the original vertex and it failed after six months. I then bought the vertex 2. 18 months later the drive developed enough bad sections that cripple the drive performance. Very disappointed in OCZ, I have their RAM, PS, and SSD.

The SSD was working fine but after 10 months it disappeared from the bios and did not show up in Windows 7. Lucky Windows was installed on a different drive (hhd) otherwise the computer would've have stopped working altogether and lucky I had backup. The SSD is now UPS ($40) to OCZ for fix and waiting. Supposedly OCZ will pay for the return shipment. I bought the ssd at $200 and i was very satisfied when it was working. I hear even with a new or fixed ssd, the problem still persist as in stop working in several months, and when working, is glichy...my brother used it at his company and has the same problem even with the updated firmware.

Very disappointed in this product. At first, the speed of the SSD was very impressive and I didn't have a problem for about 3 months; then it died. Afterwards, when i had RMA'd it, everything looked to be going smoothly after i had received a completely new vertex 2; until it died 3 months later. After having my 3rd revision of the SSD, i can only wait to see 3 months later if the SSD will die once again

I purchased this drive after much convincing by a couple of friends of mine, stating that they had the same brand/drive in multiple machines and they all functioned properly.
I heard so many people having problem with this sandforce thing right after I bought it... I almost regretted it, but so far, I haven't had a single problem with it.
Although I don't dare updating it with the recent firmware. I'd rather leave it untouch, since it's working top notch.

ssd is the future. spinning drives in laptops seems so 20th century now. price keeps coming down so keep watching. mail in rebate is a bit annowing and I actually missed the deadline so get on top of it.

I've had this ssd for over a year, and despite the apparent high frequency of other people's SSD Vertex 2's going bad, mine has been nothing but joy to own. I have had absolutely no problems with my SSD, have not ever had to update firmware, and have never experienced blue screens. Perhaps I may have received a good copy? Nonetheless, because of my personal experience with this SSD, at the time of writing, I recommend this SSD for those still using SATA2 interface.
