Have been using this model of TP-Link's USB wireless adapter for over a year now and it is a fool-proof and easy way to connect any USB device to the hotspots. Other than being a bit on the bulky side, it does have excellent reception over distance.

Overall this is an excellent USB wireless adapter for the price. After upgrading to Windows 8 I did not even have to look for the drivers, they were installed with Windows Update.
I purchased this with a price match that saved me $10. I needed this for the Windows 8 computer I was setting up to test. When first connected it was identified as a "USB 2.0 wireless adapter" but as soon as I installed the Win7 64-bit driver from the CD, it worked flawlessly. I used the included USB cable so that I didn't have to worry about it sticking so far out of the back of the computer. Even though it is at opposite ends of the house from my wireless access point, I am still getting maximum signal strength and speed.

Wow. For $17 on sale this is an awesome deal. Works well (so far) with Windows 7 and gets good signal strength(unlike my dlink dwa-525 POS which wouldn't work line of sight to the router). The usb extension allow me to position it in the room to get the best signal possible. I'm quite happy and wish I bought this first.
Got this pricematched down to 18 dollars. At that price, it's been quite a good buy. So far it's been quite reliable and speeds have been decent.

the side with anttenna, may be the other side of the item. I was forced to use the included extension cable, which I really didnt like. Perhaps some people wont find it an issue.
It has an excellent range, I detect a lot more wireless networks and the signal is very strong. The antenna is removable so you can install another one if you wish. It's also very cheap.
