For the price, this drive is very fast and silent too, it's a must buy. I should buy another one and put them in raid, guess I'll wait until i have more dough.

J'ai acheté deux de ces disques pour l'installtion à neuf de Windows 7 sur mes deux ordinateurs. Ce disque dur est performent et sa capacité est plus que suffisante pour à peu pret toutes les configuration possibles. Un bon achat à recommander.

I bought the black because of the 5-year warranty, and no other reason at all went into the purchase decision. I am thoroughly satisfied by the XP system boot time after making the switch from another sata drive.

I have lm-sensors installed under Ubuntu 9.10 and this drive tends to average ~35C. It's very similar to my Western Digital Blue Caviar 320GB in terms of speed and running temps - only slightly faster and as others have noticed, a bit louder with disk activity. I'd buy another and have recommended them to others as well.

Great OS drive for my second PC. Works well on my NF4 Ultra 939 board. Load times are faster than the old HDD I was using. I would recommend this to anybody looking for a speed increase but doesn't want to spend the money on a SSD.

Bought 2 of these and running them in Raid 0 as bootable drive for Windows 7 Home Prenium .. Works perfectly!

I bought this hard drive, went home installed Windows. Everything went smoothly. I have owned Western Digital hard drives before so I trust their reliability. This hard drive is fast but it is a bit on the loud side. Although it's still pretty quiet, only audible in certain situations. Good Buy. I would buy another one but this time go for the 1TB version.

This is a great drive, especially for the price. Grabbing two of these for RAID 0 = GG. Currently using this as an OS drive, and I will be buying more of these (maybe another 640GB for RAID 0, and 1T for storage) in the future.

Product Warranty
First 30 days limited warranty through NCIX.com. The remainder of the 3 year warranty is provided directly by the manufacturer.
Warranty length may vary per specific model. Western Digital Raptor and Caviar RE series enterprise drives are covered by a 5 year warranty. Caviar and Caviar SE desktop drives are covered by a 3 year warranty for OEM drives, and a 1 year warranty for Retail.
Warranty coverage for drives is covered by NCIX for the first thirty (30) days with the remainder of the warranty covered by Western Digital.
