one of the sata port on it broke after first use. wat happened was that i plugged it in with the sata cable, and realized i routed the cables wrong on the other end. unplugged it, and the sata port broke. NCIX won't accept it, saying that i caused the problem. it still works tho...

For the price I got what I expected, I purchased two of these and they are semi quiet with medium performance for under 60 dollars. While holding 640 gigs and using little power. There is noticeable lag when opening large folders or preforming scans/searches etc..., which is expected of most 7200RPM HDDs. I haven't experienced any problems and both drives are still running after 6 months of 12 hour per day use.

I own 2 of these WD6400AAKS, one being used in my NMT (networked Media Tank) and one being used for storage and games on my secondary computer. So far both are great, far from overheating, always around 30-40 degrees Celcius even without a fan nearby (far from being as hot as my older WD2000JS 200gb SATA drive which goes at around 50 degrees easily!)
WD's 2 platter design using their new 320GB/platters. HD Tach measured average transfer rate reflects the high-density platters with a rate of close to 91MB/s. Exceptional...better than a Raptor. (But of course the access times don't match a Raptor's.)

Product Warranty
First 30 days limited warranty through NCIX.com. The remainder of the two year warranty is provided directly by the manufacturer.
Warranty length may vary per specific model. Western Digital Raptor and Caviar RE series enterprise drives are covered by a 5 year warranty. Caviar and Caviar Blue & Green desktop drives are covered by a 2 year warranty for OEM drives, and a 1 year warranty for Retail.
Warranty coverage for drives is covered by NCIX for the first thirty (30) days with the remainder of the warranty covered by Western Digital.
