A very in depth review of this new MB. They put a lot of focus on HD playback, this thing looks to be the end-all solution for HTPC's on the cheap, with full 1080p playback, using the on-board video!

It works, but I don't think I will buy a Gigabyte board again. The northbridge runs so hot I can't even touch the heatsink without burning my-self. I have just purchased the Thermaltake Extreme Spirit II Copper Northbridge Cooler (SKU 18856)it seems that with this heatsink it will drop the temp considerably. The heatsink will fit on this board, I have seen a pic on one of the forums. 75mm across from each seat hole.

So I built this up with 4 x 2gb ram, a black edition 9950 and ultimate vista, threw in a blue ray writer and tried out a 4850 diamond, but returned it, I want bigger, going to go with a 4870 x2. The heat on setup was a concern. But after all the drivers were installed, the fan slowed to a quiet hum and the case was cool to the touch.
So I built this up with 4 x 2gb ram, a black edition 9950 and ultimate vista, threw in a blue ray writer and tried out a 4850 diamond, but returned it, I want bigger, going to go with a 4870 x2. The heat on setup was a concern. But after all the drivers were installed, the fan slowed to a quiet hum and the case was cool to the touch.
I currently have this motherboard bundled with a AMD 5000+ BE and some Corsair XMS2 2x2GB ram and everything is running top notch. I was lucky enough to get rev 1.1 that comes with a larger NB than rev 1.0. Nevertheless, the temperature of the NB is still being misreported. It shows up as 85C in Speedfan/HWM, but I doubt it is that high when I touch it. Another problem is that the driver support is so-so. My videos (HD) are sometimes a bit sketchy with the newer drivers (8.10), but play fine on older drivers (8.6). All in all, everything runs stable at stock. I would definitely buy it again.

I used this mobo in a build for a friend who wanted a cheap 'do everything' computer. It succeeds in all ways except for gaming performance. I thought it would be sufficient to play RTS games and World of Warcraft, but performance was poor even on very low settings. I ended up getting a dedicated video card for her, which put her over budget, but everything can run on maxed settings now.
This is a great product its quiet cheap and does what its advertized to do. It also has enchance my resale value for my computer when I decide to upgrade.

First 30 days limited warranty through NCIX.com. The remainder of the 3 year warranty is provided directly by the manufacturer.
Currently Gigabyte accepts end users’ requests on RMA service. Motherboards, Video cards, servers and Rackmount server boards carry three years limited warranty.
Warranty Effective On Date of Manufacture
Gigabyte determines warranty based on the manufacture date. The manufacture date can be verified by the serial number found on the product. The first four digits after "SN" determine the year and week of manufacturing date. For example:

RMA Request Procedures and Guidelines
All RMA request forms must be completed in order to obtain a RMA number
RMA request with missing or incorrect serial number(s) may result in a delayed process or a rejection of request
Any model discrepancy for received items may result in a delayed processing timeProducts received with no RMA number may delay processing or refusal (Gigabyte will not be responsible for items received without proper information)
No cross shipping or advanced replacements under any circumstances
Products will either be repaired or replaced at our discretion
