These fans are perfect for HTPC's or any case that has large unobstructed fan grill openings. For computer cases with restrictive grills or filters the 800 rpm model would be more suitable I think.

This is by far the quietest computer fan I have (not) heard. For the low RPM this fan pushes a surprising amount of air. In retrospect, I should have gone with one of the higher RPM models of this fan because that still would have been much quieter than my PS and GPU cooler. This would be well suited to something like a HTPC.

I picked up two of these for a quiet office style computer that requires minimum airflow. Still, I was surprised by how much air they actually move. I have never seen nor "heard" a fan this quiet. I think they would be excellent in HTPC systems and I'm going to try them for that application as well.
