I'm very happy with the quality from this economical printer. I primarily use it with an older Mac G3 running OS9 connected with USB. The software is very good, and includes a 'toner saver' mode (which uses about 50% less toner than normal - good for drafts but not final copies). The software also allows for relatively simple manual duplexing. Downsides are a low output starter toner cart, which in my experience was only good for a few hundred pages. I've now replaced this with the high output toner cart which is expected to last for several thousand pages (5000+). The 3 LED's on the front are also confusing to read, as different combinations of blinking lights are meant to correspond to different types of printer errors.

the price overcomes the weaknesses, and since it has run problem free for months, it is highly recommended for anyone who is looking for fast, clearer-than-inkjet prints that is also inexpensive

I've owned this printer for a short period but it has been printing good quality high-resolution documents. As for Printing Images, I tried to print b/w from a color image and ends up with an average printing result. The picture seems disturbed. Maybe I need to update to the latest driver for better image printing. Overall, I have paid good price for good laser printing. I recommend this to customers totally!

I have owned one of these for about a year now and I continue to be impressed. Speed is good, quality is good, warm-up time is adequate and you can't beat the price. I also own a slightly older Samsung ML series printer that is similar in price and features, but I prefer the Brother due to its straighter paper path (though I would gladly recommend either as both have proven excellent for my purposes). Now if they could only figure out a duplexor option that cost <$50 lol. My $.02

a very good printer, especially for the price. it doesn't print too hot either, so printing envelopes doesn't cause the envelope to seal before you want it too like my old printer.

Been waiting for laser printer prices to drop to get one. This one finally fit my budget, and I have liked it so far. It was easy to install. Nuisance that it doesn't come with cables, but that's a minor issue. A 6 foot usb cable costs 6/7$ here.

I've had 2 Brother laser printers in the past (a HL-660, good printer, & a HL-1020, garbage, drum broke after 700 pages), I couldn't let a cheap deal like this one go. Figured the last one I got was just a dud. I've printed about 80 pages on it so far and I hope for many more. Nice printer for the price.

For the price, you can't beat this printer. If anyone asked me what printer to get, I'd recommend this one hands down. The only things I noticed were - if people print labels or envelopes, you have to feed the sheets through one at a time unlike some printers like the HP 2100 which has a fold-down manual feed tray. It comes with a 3000 page toner cartridge and when buying replacement toner you can get 6000 page toner for about $10-15 more than the 3000. I've purchased about 20 of these printers for work (not through NCIX, however) and haven't had ANY problems with them.

This is a great printer. It seems to be on sale everywhere all the time. It's fast and hasn't caused any problems yet. I love this printer (came from inkjet so this is a massive upgrade ;-) )
