Intel® WiDi lets users enjoy and share PC content from an Intel® Core™ processor-based notebook with their big screen TV. With Intel® WiDi, you can use your big screen TV to view data and applications from your hard drive, home network, or the Internet. It’s no longer necessary for friends and families to crowd around the PC to enjoy content stored or accessed there. Although Intel® WiDi is a wireless technology, it requires a third-party display adapter in order to be used. The display adapter is attached to the TV via HDMI (preferred) or composite A/V cables.         Bluetooth Wireless  The integrated Bluetooth feature provides wireless connectivity for wireless devices at close proximity. For example, Bluetooth can be used to wirelessly transfer/ synchronize data to and from different devices such as PDAs and cellular phones. It also communicates with peripherals such as mice, keyboards, and printers wirelessly, minimizing the constraints and clutter of cables. The typical transfer distance for a Bluetooth device is up to 30 feet. Designed to take advantage of a typical workspace or PAN (Personal Area Network), the purpose of Bluetooth is to simplify the exchange of information and interfacing of devices within a close proximity. When considering Bluetooth devices keep in mind that the system as well as the individual devices must support Bluetooth.         USB 3.0  Universal Serial Bus (USB) 3.0 ports allow you to connect USB devices. USB 3.0 technology is much faster than the previous generations of USB. USB 3.0 transfers data at up to 5Gbps and is backward-compatible with USB 1.1 and 2.0 devices, which transfer data at up to 12 Mbps and 480 Mbps, respectively. USB 3.0 ports can be distinguished from USB 1.1 and 2.0 ports by the blue “tongue” in the center of the port.           Anytime USB Charge The Anytime USB Charge feature is available through certain USB 3.0 ports. Anytime USB Charge allows you to charge an external device with a USB charge connector even when the notebook is turned off. Anytime USB Charge ports can be distinguished from standard USB 3.0 ports by the small power plug icon that is adjacent to the standard USB icon on the system surface. Note:  The Anytime USB Charge feature is disabled by default. To enable the feature, go to Start menu > All Programs > Anytime USB Charge Utility and choose whether to enable the function when an AC Adapter is used or when an AC Adapter or battery is used. Note that charging a device off of the battery will quickly deplete the battery power, so you are advised to use an AC Adapter when charging an external device.         IntelR HD Graphics  select  models of the IntelR Core? processor family feature IntelR HD Graphics, a giant step in computer graphics. IntelR HD Graphics delivers sharper pictures and video, and more lifelike color than previous graphics technologies. There is no special graphics card required for Intel HD Graphics; it’s already built into the processor. This is the ideal graphics technology to support the full capabilities of the WindowsR 7 operating system.         Dual-Layer Multi-Format DVD Writer Dual-layer DVD+R technology provides the ability to record up to 8.5 GB of data on a single disc surface. This nearly doubles the standard DVD capacity of 4.7 GB. That means one side of a DVD+R disc will hold up to 4 hours of DVD quality video or 16 hours of VHS quality video. Dual-layer discs can also be read on DVD players that were originally designed for single-layer discs. In addition to its dual-layer DVD+R capabilities, this drive allows you to read and write to CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+RW, and DVD RAM discs.         HDD Recovery  Certain LIFEBOOK notebook models have a copy of the pre-installed Factory Image loaded into a hidden partition on the hard disk drive. Having a copy of the original Factory Image available to you means that in the event of system failure, you will be able to restore it to its original state directly from the hard drive. (It is very important that you create  DVD copies of your Factory Image before beginning to use your system for use in the event of hard disk failure).           SD Card Slot  The media slot accepts Secure Digital (SD, SDHC, and SDXC card format) cards for quick and easy transfer of digital photos, music, or video to your notebook. These flash-based memory cards require low voltage to read data, and can store data files without requiring power. Since they use solid state architecture and have no moving parts, they are very reliable and offer large storage capacities.           ExpressCard The ExpressCard® standard provides a faster, more flexible design for plug-in cards. ExpressCards can use either PCI Express or USB 2.0 interfaces. They are smaller than PCMCIA cards, and are available in two different widths: 34 mm and 54 mm. The 34 mm card is about half the size of a PCMCIA card and is particularly useful when space is at a premium. The 54 mm card is slightly smaller than a PCMCIA card. The new design supports the broadest range of applications and future expandability.         HDMI  The High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) port is a digital audio/video interface over which uncompressed streams can be transmitted. This port is used to connect compatible digital devices with your computer (such as large-screen HDTVs).           DTS® technology for sound quality enhancement  There are two new audio enhancements now available from DTS Technologies. DTS Boost™ uses sophisticated technology to take the existing sound from your system and dramatically increase the perceived loudness without the distortion that normally occurs due to overdriving the audio system.         Spill-Resistant Keyboard The spill-resistant keyboard offers protection against damage caused by accidental spills. If a liquid is spilled on the keyboard, a protective membrane and collection tray help reduce the chance of internal components coming in contact with the liquid. This gives you more time to save your data and shut down the system.         Gesture-enabled Touchpad:  Expands the capability of the traditional touchpad by allowing you to use simple gestures to perform useful tasks. The gesture-enable touchpad lets you: Zoom in by placing two fingers together on the touchpad and then moving them away from each other Zoom out by placing two fingers on the touchpad and moving them towards each other Continuous scroll ( also called "ChiralMotion") by moving your finger in a clockwise circular motion to scroll down, or counter-clockwise to scroll up. Use Momentum to increase the cursor movement speed by sliding your finger quickly across the touchpad.         HD Camera  The built-in HD web camera is a great way to stay in touch with your family, friends and business associates. The handy, versatile HD camera and its easy-to-use software let you take still pictures or capture video. Use the camera with any of the popular social networks to catch up with old friends and to meet new ones. Do you want to demonstrate a complex process to a colleague in another state? No problem. Do you have items you want to photograph to sell online? It's a snap! Would you like to practice a speech for school and be able to review it? Use the video capture function to record it. Uses for the built-in camera are limited only by your imagination. The camera is located just above the display in the center along with the digital microphone and status indicator light that tells you when the camera is in use.
