Got this for a Crashplan backup and it worked great on my main rig. On my server I have a cheap USB3 expansion card and I kept getting errors on this drive but I have feeling that is because of the card and not the drive. For the price it is cheaper to buy this then a bare drive.

I bought this drive at feb 2013 and it died after 2 months. Used it as backup drive and didn't run it often. The drive stopped working after a restart. The power adaptor worked fine but the drive wouldn't start. Removed case and connected the drive directly to my pc. It read the drive but all partitions were gone. Also 750 GB / 3000 GB was totally unusable and couldn't be formatted nor partition.
Was on sale and was cheaper than a raw drive and fit the bill since I had a free USB3 port on my PC. Fast enough for my uses which includes media file storage and virtual machine disk images.

I bought this for a laptop that had run out of space to store pictures. I was only looking to get a 1 TB external drive , when I saw this on sale. Hard to beat a price like this $ 125 ! Easy to use.

I would definitely recommend this drive to others. Works great out-of-the-box. Setup was a snap. I plan on suggesting that some of my small business clients purchase one of these for backup storage. As always, NCIX.com is on the ball with shipping and service!

Got it to dump movies and songs and backups. USB3 speed is great. Only hiccup I have is that the drive can have a hard time getting recognised again by Win7 64bit when it has been plugged in for a long period, and that the computer had time to go to sleep. Unplugging and replugging the power and/or USB cable didn't do it, had to reboot for it to work. Otherwise no complains at all.
