Using this for personal media storage, and although the unit is somewhat slow (particularly the web interface), it is a very good value for the money. Plenty of features and somewhat intuitive GUI. Music, Photos and movie storage, you can't go wrong. I don't think that it would be very effective as a VM storage appliance or SMB NAS.

Well, its a good, solid product. It has been reliable thus far, no major issues. It does not integrate well in a Windows Server environment though. Permissions are very hard to manage when you have a large user group and there is no active directory support. Even after setting up permissions, even those without permission could access certain files. Not build with the user in mind.....but it does have plugin support which is good I guess....Never used that feature though.
