Great price for a dvd burner. It's fast for reading/writing. Only gripe I have is that it makes a very loud noise when it first starts spinning up. But it's quiet once it starts running.

I needed a cheap drive, this fits the bill. Not sure what the advantage to "retail" is besides a box I threw away. Last OEM drive I bought still came with the DVD full of programs. Still a good drive though.
