We defined HDB to Hydro Dynamic Bearing. An oil seal design that has a higher reliability and advantage than conventional fan motor design. 1. High revolution precision, low vibration noise 2. Fluid seal design provide extremely long life span 3. Surface tension effect, runs more smoothly with no friction, extremely quiet Fluid seal design is achieved through the use of oil surface tension and hydrodynamic pumping forces provided by grooves. Bend area is centralized oil and prevented oil leakage out of motor (oil leakage is main problem of sleeve bearing, short life time) . Friction between shaft and HDB will be down due to herringbone structure reaction(friction between the metal is disadvantage of ball bearing, noise & waste heat problem). So HDB conquer sleeve & ball bearing disadvantage to become more reliable & quiet technology for Top-notch fan. Such design concept is successful and applicative on HDD, and we can see a reliability application in it.

Ce ventilateur est très efficace et déplace un assez bon volume d'air. Les coussinets en caoutchouc aident à éliminer la vibration. Le câble tressé est de bonne qualité de même que tout les accessoires inclus. On bon achat.

Typically I use the Noctua NF-P12-1300 for air CPU cooler, but because of the color, I changed to use Cougar non-PWM fan for air CPU cooler and air intake. Those non-PWM fan works great and quiet at all times.
my goal here is to replace antec kuhler h2o 920 stock fan.
one option is use common 3pin fan. Down side is chil control will lose fan speed adjust. Fan controller can do the job. But they need detector to know cpu temp, very roughly. I also doubt controller won't control fan speed well as chil control.

Used these as bottom and top fan on a Corsair Carbide 500R with a P8Z68 V-Pro/Gen 3. The MB doesn't control the fan the same way? but I did help cooling in my setup.
Very good fans that I bought to replace the obnoxiously loud fans on my H100. They are without a doubt much quieter than the H100 fans although I didn't see that much of a temperature improvement over the stock fans(3770K d4.0ghz, fan controller at highest setting). I also observed that the fans provide a much more direct airflow than conventional fans due to the shape of teh frame. Unfortunately, I bought those to fit in a black & blue build and the pads on the mounting points are friggin' orange. Oh well, at least it's not as bad as the color of Noctua fans. Apart from the color (WHYYYYYYYYYYY WHYYYYYYYYYYY), one of the fans made this annoying high pitched noise when it was at the lowest setting for about two weeks and then it stopped. Odd. At least the fan is working perfectly fine.

I bought 4 of these and put them in my case, 2 on an antec kuhler 920 in push pull, and in summer with an ambient temperature of 26 degrees Celsius, my liquid temperature is at 30.1, my temperature before was at 34-38 with the stock fans because at full rpm they sounded like a vacuum cleaner. so for a 4-8 degree difference I would say that it was an investment that was well worth my time.

Bought 5 of these to replace the stock fan in my 650D and for a push pull config with my H100. I haven't tested the stock fans with the H100 but these move an insane amount of air. I have four of these on my H100 and the amount of air they push thru the rad and out of the case is ridiculous.
