The Zalman CNPS5X Performa is an affordable, yet cutting edge CPU cooler designed to silently cool 100 Watt CPUs and less. Since most current desktop CPUs are under this heat level, this makes the CNPS5X ideal for quiet cooling of today's CPUs. The Zalman CNPS5X Performa is a compact tower cooling design including three heatpipes, aluminum fins, and an ultra quiet 92mm fluid shield bearing (FSB) fan.

It is a good fan for the price you bought, especialy if you upgrade an existing configuration. But it's not the most performant fan ever but it do a nice job.

After about 15 months it started making clacking noises at high rpm. Now about 24 months, playing anything that requires a lot of cpu power just makes the thing scream for replacement, it is now unbearable.

Great CPU fan. Had some issues with clearance, but that's more my fault than anything. The bolts on the side that hold this to the LGA 775 bracket, are long enough that they hit some of the motherboard heat sinks around my CPU.

Cheapest heatpipe heaksink to be seen for LGA1156 1155 775 AM3 AM2 FM1 socket. Without the spring loaded screw, it can be difficult to judge how much more need to tight/loosen the screw equally on each side so the bottom of the heaksink seat parallel to the top of the cpu. The instruction is unclear whether the screws should be fasten all the way down. If it is assume so, it seem too much pressure pushing on the cpu, don't know how much force the cpu/board could handle--maybe over concern.

Although I haven't overclocked my FX-6300 (yet), this fan keeps the CPU cool without making noise. Got it for $5.99 (after MIR) which was a steal.

This CPU Fan is amazing! I had a lot of thermal problems while encoding video... temp. rised until 80C after 5 minutes of encoding! Now i have been encoding video for three hours, temp. is stable at 32C. I can't believe it! I'm really satisfied.

I bought this to quiet my Sandy Bridge HTPC. Any 120MM cooler was too high for the Silverstone HTPC case, so this 92MM unit was perfect. Installation was a breeze taking just a few minutes. The mounting of the heatsink bracket to the motherboard couldn't have been easier and mounting the heaksink to the bracket was painless. The fan is very quiet and the cooling is very good for my non overclocked Sandy dual core. The price on this unit during the sale was nearly a giveaway. This cooler is probably a good purchase at full price.

Got this super cheap after a MIR. It looks a lot cooler than the stock cooler on my Core I5, but after seeing all the reviews I thought it was going to be even quieter than it is. It is still a bit noisy when your CPU is getting worked.
