have a few of these installed, been using them for some years and they are still working like new. bios detection under AHCI takes a long time though might be something with the boot volume

My Seagate died prematurely and needed a fast and large replacement. Western Digital is back and definitely has good products and warranty. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase another and I do all my shopping from NCIX because they are fast, reliable, courteous, and very easy to deal with.

Needed to upgrade my drobo, and finally decided that flooding prices had dropped enough. Got a pair of these for 90$ a pop, which isn't amazing, but was a decent price given the circumstances. Both checked out fine when I got them and are now running in my drobo. If I needed more, WD blues is where I'd look first.
4/5 only because post flood pricing still isn't as good as it used to be.

This was a lightly used drive in a backup file server that died just under one year of use. WD Smart Info claimed drive was fine, but the Diagnostics program would not run. And it did the have the "click of death" too. Have RMA pending to WD. This is the 6th WD drive I've bought, and first failure. I'll buy again, but disappointed at the short life.

Product Warranty
First 30 days limited warranty through NCIX.com. The remainder of the two year warranty is provided directly by the manufacturer.
Warranty length may vary per specific model. Western Digital Raptor and Caviar RE series enterprise drives are covered by a 5 year warranty. Caviar and Caviar Blue & Green desktop drives are covered by a 2 year warranty for OEM drives, and a 1 year warranty for Retail.
Warranty coverage for drives is covered by NCIX for the first thirty (30) days with the remainder of the warranty covered by Western Digital.
