A gaming mouse must be comfortable, responsive, glide easily and have a few decent programmable buttons. A wireless gaming mouse needs to do all this with minimum installation fuss and no lag.
Going beyond the G500's ten programmable buttons, the G700 offers 13 – 4 by the thumb, 3 by the forefinger, 3 for the scroll wheel, 1 under the scroll wheel, and of course, the left and right buttons.
Primarily aimed at MMO gamers, thanks to thirteen configurable buttons, multiple profiles, and a comfort level that welcomes long gaming sessions, the G700 stands to compete against the likes of the Razer Naga and SteelSeries WoW mice.
It’s been fun watching Logitech’s mice evolve over the last decade. There’s a clear line of succession, with each new model building upon the last. The G700 follows that tradition with the form factor found in the Performance line combined with the G Series gaming oriented features. It’s about the b
The new G700 is the latest offering to Logitech's G-series line of gaming peripherals that are intended for gamers who require a multitude of buttons, in depth programming options, and high performance technical specifications not usually found in a wireless mouse. It is optimized for MMO gaming
The company's reputation is strong for a reason, and we were pleasantly surprised to find that Logitech's created a mouse and headset that leapfrog -- rather than just catch up to -- what competitors have offered. See what we mean in our review after the break.
While the G700 is a new design for Logitech, it's still recognisable as a Logitech mouse. We wanted to take this wireless gaming mouse for a spin and see if the new shape and features added up.
The G700 is Logitech's best gaming mouse yet, combining a robust feature set, thoughtful design, wireless operation, and portability into an outstanding all-around package.
Insanely high DPI, check... large number of programmable buttons, check... on the fly profile switching, check... have Logitech created one of the best gaming mice of all time? Let's find out.

Even with the programming buttons fiasco, I still love this mouse. I can use a XBOX360 controller and use all the buttons out of the box, why can't I on a gaming mouse? And its not just Logitech, any brand gaming mouse. What really amazed me is the side scrolling wheel, works for everything in windows(if need be). scrolls up and down as well as left to right. Even Windows 8 see it as a G700 and utilizes most of the buttons, which is awesome! But to get them to work in games one has to program everything as keystrokes... Not a huge deal, but such a pain. Its kind of on the heavy side, but not a big deal to me, since I have a 18"x12" gaming surface, so I never find myself lifting it up. I have heard complaints about being hard to lift, but I don't find a problem there and I don't accidently press the thumb G buttons. I wish gaming software companies would have more support for multi button gaming mouses, most likely why even a lot of gaming buttons don't have a lot of buttons. This is as close as it gets to perfect for a casual FPS gamer as myself. I only want to use the WADS and spacebar. And all the buttons on the mouse. Theres a little bit of work involved in getting it up and running on all my games, but once all the options are set, its all good. Its got good wireless range to downstairs for my projector setup, but mostly I keep it wired on my computer upstairs. If one had to, buying a couple extra rechargeable enelopes would work fine too. Logitech took forever to support Windows 8, but they finally did, and it works great.

This is the best mouse I've ever owned. 3 years and it's still going strong. The list is long for describing how good this mouse is and it far outweighs any cons there may be. I keep trying to find a better mouse and every time I fail to do so.

Love this mouse, it's replacing my G500 and it has way more button. They did the wireless the right way, the laser eye is still in the middle of the mouse instead of the side like most wireless mouse. Perfect for WoW and CoD Black Ops.

Needed to upgrade my MX revolution and was looking at the Razer Mamba or Naga. The Mamba ended up not having enough buttons, and I read poor reviews on the Naga Elite button layout (not being able to easily use each button), so I looked at the G700. I'm really glad as I, as the mouse works perfectly (plugged in or wireless), and the 4 thumb buttons are easily identifiable without looking at the mouse mid game.
Logitech has created another great product but my only gripe is that the battery does not last long for moderate gaming so eventually I just left it in wired mode all the time.

Purchased this last year and it was great. Has awesome DPI adjustment (on the fly) and the fact that it can be wireless for me to surf the web and wired for me to game was great on its own. The build quality is excellent as you would expect on a Logitech product and it gave me no issues whatsoever. The only downside was the battery life (uses an eneloop).

A pretty decent quality gaming mouse. The adjustability of DPI settings through calibrated profiles on the fly is pretty handly as are the programmable macro buttons on the mouse.
a fairly decent mouse. loads of customizable buttons/profiles. the weight takes a bit of time to getting used to from a normal mouse. the wired mode does charge the battery, and on battery it does last 2-3 days which is alright for the battery it ships with. feels alright in the hand. only con is the weight isn't customizable for the price of this mouse.
