The AVerTV HD DVR - is a High Definition / Analog video capture card. It's equipped with HDMI and through the included dongle cable, Component, S-Video and Composite Video input interface. Allowing users to connect to their Cable/Satellite Set-Top-Box, Gaming Console and HD Video recorders to capture High Definition and Analog video content on their to PC.
The package includes our AVer MediaCenter software application with advance software encoding algorithm engine and built-in schedule recording features. Users can capture HD video, up to 1080i, and save it in MPEG 2 or H.264 file format (which can be use to playback under iPod or PSP gaming device) as well as program start and end times of TV shows from HD Cable/Satellite Set-Top-Box.
AVerTV HD DVR is a superior device to digitalize piles of videotapes, turning moments recorded in analog video signals into DVD format! You can easily connect your desktop computer with home video devices, in just one step -"plug and play"!

this is a great little card, It can support up to 4 devices, i can run my 360 & GameCube thru my PC well recording with no lag with some adepter i can hook up my TV as well. I don`t rely like the software that Aver Media has but it works. I give the card 5/5

I use this card to record and stream gameplay from consoles (Xbox 360 via HDMI, and Playstation 2 via component, in each case using a video splitter). The bundled software isn't very good for recording, so I don't even touch it. Ordinary capture software such as VirtualDub works just fine, though. It's too bad it doesn't support 1080p (just 1080iz60 and 720pz60 max), but that's not a big deal for me. HDMI quality is perfect, of course, being a digital signal. I haven't tried any HD video through component, but for a standard NTSC resolution the quality is perfect.

I have an eastlink hd receiver into the component in and a direct tv hd receiver into the HDMI in and able to watch or capture perfect.I've been using this for almost a year now so i figured i could give it a fair review.in my opinion it's the perfect addition to any HTPC.gives you lots of inputs and all selectable within the aver media center.
Bought this to capture console gameplay. Software that comes with it is not that great and use it with other 3rd party software. I have not been able to capture in full HD or using component without severe lag. Avermedia have been providing great support but as of the last contact with them, they stated that there are issues with AMD processors. My PC requirements surpass what they state on their website so I thought it was going to work fine. I am looking into a good HDMI splitter to see if it would help. So far a total waste of money. Would not recommend at this point.
