Overview: The Auzen X-Fi Bravura 7.1 is designed for optimal audio output, both both digital and analog. The Creative X-Fi PCI Express Core Interface audio processor is on the back of the board while the analog circuitry is on the front, allowing for greater signal differentiation and better-performing analog circuit design.
PCI Express: PCI Express™ (PCIe) is a serial bus standard that provides a higher throughput than the older, parallel PCI bus standard. Unlike PCI Express™ sound cards built with PCI processors adapted for the PCIe slot, the X-Fi™ Bravura is built around Creative Labs' PCI Express™ processor. As a native-PCI Express™ sound card, the X-Fi™ Bravura can take full advantage of the higher-throughput of the PCIe bus.
I/O Mode Control: Auzen X-Fi Bravura 7.1 provides presets for Analog I/O to adapt to the environment of the user.
Multichannel Speaker output: The Auzen X-Fi Bravura 7.1 uses 114dB Digital to Analogue Converters (DAC) with high quality metalized capacitors for the filter circuitry. The Operational Amplifiers (OPAMPs) for all channels are upgradable.
Independent Headphone Output Circuitry: With a maximum sampling rate of 24/192 kHz output, the Auzen X-Fi Bravura 7.1 is suitable for professional headphones. The proprietary headphone amplifier uses an independent 120dB DAC, an upgradable OPAMP, and film capacitors for the DAC filter.
X-Balance Pointing Ground Supply™: Auzentech's proprietary Pointing Ground Design™ shares one point for the DAC, OPAMP, Power supply and to the output jack, stopping noise from interfering with the signal, outputting a signal with much less distortion. In the Auzen X-Fi Bravura 7.1, the design has been improved over previous models for even greater output filtering and driving capacity. The X-Balance Pointing Ground Supply™ uses Conductive Polymer Capacitors with ten times the ESR rating than normal condenser capacitors and a superior instant power supply capacity.

During our tests, the Bravura offered great sound quality, with wide sound stage, great clarity and great bass. Based on our examination it seems precedence was given to output sound quality for the given price point. The card has some design considerations that are meant only to improve the cards

Really impressed with this card so far. If you have any sort of high end headphones (I have Sennheiser 555's for example) - you'll notice a massive quality jump by using this card and its 1/4" headphone jack.
Well, I am happy to say that the Auzentech Bravura I received does not have the detection issues that some people have experienced. It is a shame that Auzentech ended up having this issue on this awesome sound card. I spoke with an Auzentech representative. It appears that the majority of Bravura cards left on the market are free of this problem. The problem I speak of is the issue of windows not seeing the sound card on start up. Now, let us talk about the sound. Well, I have compared this card with the Xonar DX that I also own, and I have to say that the Bravura sounds better. Right out of the box, the Bravura has a much wider soundstage, and more detail from top to bottom. The Bravura has a much warmer midrange as well. The bass on the Xonar DX extends slightly lower, but the Bravura has a much more controlled bass response. Another note worth mentioning is that the Bravura does have a fairly airy top end though, which some people may not like. Running the card to my Harman Kardon AVR 3600 (a warm sounding receiver) offers a very balanced sound. The headphone amp on the Bravura is driving my Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro headphones quite nicely. This card is just packed with features. For anyone who owns this card, I would suggest using the modded PAX creative drivers as well. You will notice an improvement immediately. I have to give this puppy 5 stars. At the current price of 80 bucks, there is nothing else that compares at this price point.

It kinda works but not completely. I cannot get the microphone to record at proper level. It records at -12dB. And I dont know how to fix that. Recording ANYTHING is not easy to setup.
Setting RECORDING devices is not easy to do nor to use.

I never had any unsolvable problems with this card so far. The audio quality is very good and it hasn't died in a 24/7 online system and some other "critical" use applications.
If you are looking to ditch PCI and make the switch to PCIe, buy this card. If you are looking to use nVidia's 2 pin DVI/HDMI connector, buy this card. Don't even waste your time with anything else. The amount of features on this card is amazing for the price. Fatality has nothing on this card.

bought this for a htpc build and only had pci-e slot available. was in back to school sale so was a good deal. my regular system has a pci card from same company. this one is the best i have ever used. no other component connected to my receiver has given me this good a quality. there is a new dts driver out as of july 30/2010 for vista/7 systems.
