The Intel Core i5 for socket 1156 is expected to be released in Q3. Multi-compatible with both the new sockets and 775, this new Alpine series is definitely a perfect choice for those who would like to go for a future-proof cooler.
Designed for silent-enthusiasts and system builders – Alpine 11 Pro
Main features
• Ultra quiet 92mm PWM fan with low noise impeller • Optimised heatsink efficient heat dissipation • Patented fan holder eliminates the buzzing sounds • Patented vibration absorption • Pre-applied MX-2 • Easy installation with push pins
The Alpine 11 Pro is for users who look for an extremely quiet, high performance and easy-to-install cooling solution.
The Alpine 11 Pro features a more sophisticated acoustic design than the stock cooler. Thanks to the patented vibration absorption and fan holder, the cooler is barely audible – only 0.4 Sone at 2,000 rpm – a standard that the stock cooler cannot compete. With a 92mm PWM fan and a bigger heatsink design, the maximum cooling capacity of the Alpine 11 Pro achieves 95 Watts.
Moreover, the unique mounting system is very user-friendly and provides an absolutely transport safe solution. The cooler is fastened by screws, no back plate is necessary nor has the mainboard to be disassembled. The whole installation can be done in less than a minute. This is a totally peace of mind solution for Intel users.

Below are reviews found on other web sites for this product submitted by customers.
Arctic Cooling Alpine 11 Pro is focused on silence, not on performance, as written on the box, "Ultra quiet cooling solution for Intel CPUs", and also by its TDP of just 95 W.
TweakTown Review: The Alpine 11 Pro is a champ for a 95W or lesser processor. Height allowing, this is one of the perfect solutions to SFF or NTPC builds. The Alpine 11 Pro is near silent most of the time, even under full load.

I am not sure what other people are talking about but I had 0 problems with this cooling system. Installed on LGA 775 Core 2 for about 2 years now (bought from a local shop). Been working flawlessly. Price is unbeatable.

Idle temps are around 45C-50C with a quiet, slow fan speed, while a 1.5 hour 1080p 7 on 7 Starcraft 2 game (with an open PC case top, needs more venting) gave max temperatures of each core, 63C, 62C, 64C, 64C with the fan at full speed.

This cooler was a complete waste of time and money for me as I purchased it on sale for a client. it does work but getting it to make proper contact with core I3 530 would not happen. I threw it in my recycle pile til time to write this review.

Put this in an HTPC system. Very quiet. Bad instructions on how to assemble but easy enough to figure out. Took 2 times. Would recommend for an HTPC sytem cools better than stock and is quieter

When my computer arrived, it wouldn't turn on for more than 10 seconds because the CPU kept overheating. It turns out the plastic retention module broke, leaving the heatsink just dangling there. When I tried removing it, plastic just kept breaking off, including the fasteners that get inserted into the push-pins. As a result, I had to take my motherboard out in order to get the thing off. I'd recommend staying away from this heatsink and get a better quality one; or be very, very, very careful.

Since the stock heatsink stop working, I replaced it with this alpine 11pro. When I was flowing the instruction to install the heatsink, the plastic part broke. I had to go back and exchange it. I barely fasten the screws for the second one. The efficiency is about same to the stock one, but it needs improvement on the quality of the material.
