Complying with IEEE802.11g, TL-WN310G can easily connect your laptop to your access point, wireless router or public WiFi hotspot. It is backward compatible with IEEE802.11b.
TL-WN310G provides an always-protected wireless network with standards-based security features: WPA/WPA2, IEEE802.1X, 64/128/152-bit WEP. With these enhanced security features, you can encrypt your data and only allow authorized users to access the wireless network so as to further protect your wireless communication from intruders.
TL-WN310G includes a TP-LINK Wireless Client Utility to detect available wireless networks for quick connection and to create and save detailed connectivity profiles for different accessed networks. The TP-LINK Wireless Client Utility also provides a number of tools to display current diagnostics and status information so that you can easily check out the problem and solve them.

I needed this piece of equipment to upgrade an old centrino laptop (wirelessto wireless G. A USB adapter was out of the question because the laptop has only 2 usb slots and one is already used by the mouse and the other is occasionnally used by a usb flash drive. So my only option was a Cardbus card like this one. I obviously noticed immediate improvement in LAN/WAN transfer speeds. This card is very reliable. No disconnects and no glitches after 5 months of use. Great by for the price.

This is a good/cheap wireless upgrade for someone with an 10+ year old basic laptop who just wants to surf anywhere in their home. Offers WPA2 encryptions and other encryption choices. Only issue I had was this card did not like XP SP3 and some its hotfixes with it. If I remember correctly, their lastest driver was dated in 2007 which was before SP3. Signal strength for this card was excellent as it maintained full G speed anywhere in their home, however, YMMV with a different laptop, os and software you may have.
