I for the longest time used Creative Sound Cards, but when I updated from XP to Windows 7 I began to have issues like crazy!
1st there were a few sound tweaks here and there, but then when I went to do some audio recording I noticed that the Stereo Mix option was GREYED OUT!

I needed to update my on-board Realtek HD audio. I only had the standard front speaker jack, Mic-in and Line-In. I needed a good X.1 speaker set up. Xonar D1 was a good choice and Asus did have the required drivers for Windows 7 64 bit.

Amazing sound card, my bass and music sounds much more clearer now, as well as games. It makes a weird crackling sound at boot, but I was told this is normal. Much better than the DX model, which requires an extra floppy power connector.
