I purchased the 5590 for the automatic document feeder, to scan a large amount of paper; the speed did not matter to me since it would not require my attention. I found it would scan about 50 double sided pages in 2 hours, including the time for the computer to convert the pages to a pdf file. The software was very difficult to obtain, they did not include vista drivers with the unit, you have to get them from hp.com. I have read many reviews on the scanner and was prepared for some paper jams; if the paper is not perfect, having holes or folds, the chances for jams increases. The instructions are unclear on how to release the paper from the jam I figured it out how to dismantle it though. This unit is impossible to clean you get one cleaning cloth and the only place you can get them is from hp.com, even with the cleaning cloth it does not clean the rollers (you can see how dirty they get by pulling out a jammed piece of paper). With all the problems if you take it apart and clean it every time you use it should get through the scan. I would recommend this scanner just because it is the only one with an automatic document feeder and duplexing that is under $500.

Defective software, video games or DVDs
will be replaced by the SAME title and format ONLY (and subject

item is UNOPENED (with shrink wrap still intact) at the sole discretion
