Overall, I'm fairly happy with these headphones. Prior to buying these, I was using my ANR aviation headset with audio in capabilities (and amazing sound quality), but I was wearing out the batteries and other parts of the headset. I wanted something that had good quality (and accurate) audio, but wasn't prohibitively expensive. After a little research, I bought these. Though the audio quality isn't quite as good as that of my aviation headset, it is still very good, and I would certainly recommend them to anyone looking for a good headset.
Now for me, I found two downsides. One: sound quality wasn't "OMG, I never want to listen to anything else" quality, so a little bit of a downer, but nothing major. The other, and somewhat more important to me, is that the ear-seals and headband material feel rather cheap. Now, bear in mind that I'm coming from a headset that had very soft leather seals and headrest, but when you put the headset on, the foam and leatherette(?) make a scratchy and cheap sound and don't have very much give to them. The head pad is practically non-existent, very little padding at all. That said, the headset is very light, and unless you are taking the headset off and and on ALL the time, you probably won't even notice either of the above 'issues'.

It is my first headset and I am very pleased with my choice. Initially, I was going with the HD202 DJ but this item has been discontinued so I turned to this.
I've had these headphones for over a year now, and being my first set of mid range audiophile grade phones, I can say I couldn't be more pleased. I use them for things like lab work, noisy bus rides, computing at night, gaming, and general music listening. The closed back design keeps me from hearing everything around me, and makes sure that nobody hears what I'm listening to.
Bought these based on recommendations from people in an online forum (NSFW, don't ask); I was using a pair of Logitech 2.0 desktop speakers or Sennheiser MX550 earphones. They're so good, after the first song I couldn't go back to either - or even the sound via HDMI-out on the R4870. It's also the reason I upgraded the sound to Asus Xonar DX, as the onboard sound really doesn't do justice to these cans.
The reviews were all correct and I'm glad I listened these are better then the price would have you believe,Far better then the Sennheiser HD200s these replaced although a tad heavier.
The bass is sometimes not at strong as I would like but these are definitely an upgrade from my stock ipod earbuds. The isolation with these things are incredible and are comfortable even after long periods of usage. If you are having a problem with them being too tight, I've heard placing them over a basketball will help with that.
I bought these HD280Pro for traveling, because they are sealed earcups, I won't bother anyone (or they won't bother me) when I am listening music on transportation. But these are quite amazing and these are comparable to (almost as good as) my HD555. Just ignore all the people that's making fun of you when you wear these, you can't hear them anyway! :)
