took all night to charge up the battery when just bought; but the software CD is old (2003) but obviously as proof of it working does not need updating because it works without any problems with windows 7 64 home premium. the software 'opti-ups sentinal' is very handy, displays line voltage in/out, battery health, input/out frequency, load capacity . handy icons at the top include a general purpose scheduler, event log viewer, a history chart of the 6 monitored functions, COM pager funtion, and even a mini-email smtp sender for 15 different types of alerts such as battery failure, power failure, low battery, bad batt, etc.
Running tower system [i3 2100, 3 SSDs, msi 460gtx hawk] and 19" LCD. Batteries hold on power for 300 seconds, more than enough to save your work, etc or keep the computer from resetting during a power problem.

I have owned this for about six months, and it has worked extremely well. The breaker in my building goes off on a regular basis, and this has saved by pc countless of times. Run about 15 minutes on a hp firebird pc with a 24.6 inch monitor. Best ups I every bought. I going to buy another for my cousin in Florada because the have blackouts there.
This ups is saving more than it is costing me.
