Overall I'm pleased with the two I just bought. The low power fan sucks in air through a grill and so won't need cleaning for years. If a person wants to replace the fan, then first any drives in the cage must be removed. Getting at the 4 screws holding the front plastic facing and grill - is fine with a bent screwdriver, but regular large handled screwdrivers won't have enough clearance. My Leatherman worked fine. The fan is held on with plastic split pins, so more fiddly work to remove those without damage. Clearance is very limited to the fan mounting holes on the other side of sheet metal to fan - sheet metal screws screwed from fan into sheet metal might work, but a nut and bolt solution would probably be best. I'm not sure if plastic split pins are readily available - which would solve everything, but gentle removal will leave the fitted ones OK.
I have fitted a replacement fan in my second cage before adding drives! Overall, though, I still feel that I got a super deal for the price.

I mostly use these to add more fans to a case. Sometimes I take off the front plate if the case has grill 5.25 bays. Sometimes it looks cool with the design on it. The only thing that is not good is the way the fans attach...it is difficult to get off and put back on.

I got two of these put in my Cooler Master ATCS 840 case. I hate the fact that cooler master cases have so many 5.25in drive bays. Who needs 6 5.25in drive bays these days? Most people are using 3.5in drive bays. Anyways I don't need any as my case is only going to be used as a server build so these work perfectly fine. No issues with installing them. Recommended.

I bought this item to add more drives to my unRAID NAS using empty 5.25" vacant slots in my case. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the construction is solid and the installation was a breeze with clear instructions. The included blue led fan is quiet and also helps reduce the hard drive temperature. Unless you need hot-swap capabilities it is a great product.

Added this in not to get the extra hard drives, but to get the extra airflow for my CPU. Unfortunately, the fan equipped in this thing is incredibly weak, so I'm going to have to get a new case fan for it. Overall though, it does look good in my 690, and it does add four new hard drive slots. Just wish the case fan was good as well.

This is an excellent all-in-one drive bay converter that comes with all the hardware needed for mounting and a blue LED fan to keep the drives cool. I am using this alongside the drive bay converter that came with my Cosmos S to run my file server, which uses 6 drives in RAID5 plus an OS drive. Fan does a good job of keeping the drives cool, even after hours of constant activity during backups. Fan is also reasonably quiet. Build quality is excellent - it can withstand some pretty rough handling, if that's what you're into. Others have had issues installing in slotted drive bays, but the Cosmos S is slotted and I had no such installation problems at all, given that the converter is designed to slide along bay slots. Aesthetically, it fits perfectly with the Cosmos S and looks very much a part of the case and not an after thought. Given the blue LED fan, however, it may not appeal to some. In which case, the fan is easily swapped out for another 120x25 fan of your choosing.
Bought this to put more hard drives in my case. Issue is the change the fan, it doesn't seem you can easier remove it and put it back. As the fan is held by plastic nubs but the nubs are so far in and hard to reach, you can't just push them out.
