The 245T monitor has a 24-inch, 16:10 wide-screen format, with a 178/178-degree viewing angle. The viewing angle is achieved via Samsung's proprietary Super Patterned Vertical Alignment (S-PVA), the latest technology advancement in liquid crystal cell structure, for an improved user viewing experience. The 245T monitor's ultra-wide viewing area can support a range of multi-window applications, thereby helping to improve work efficiency and reducing the need for two monitors.
Furthermore, the 245T model features a high 1920 x 1200 resolution, allowing the monitor to deliver clearer and more precise images. The 245T monitor's image quality is also enhanced by Samsung's MagicContrast which offers a super high contrast ratio and an extra-wide viewing angle that's ideal for providing detailed onscreen images. With the 3000:1 super-high dynamic contrast ratio, it's easy to read or view content on the monitor's screen. The 245T model also comes equipped with MagicSpeed, which gives users an ultra-fast 6ms response time (gray to gray), making the monitor ideal for computer gaming and multimedia-driven applications such as motion or streaming video. A faster response time provides better performance of motion video, and produces smoother edges, clearer images and a more natural image response.
These features make the 245T monitor an ideal choice for a range of high-end commercial applications that require clear and precise images, such as CAD/CAM fine-detailed drawings, web and graphic design and desktop publishing.

This review is for two monitors, the second being the 245T.
They have run the monitor through lots of tests. One of the main selling features of the 245T is the wide colour gamut.
Positive review (8/10)
The lowest score was for value (6/10), but now that the price has come down since this monitor was reviewed (Nov 9, 2007), I would think the value score would go up to a 7 or 8.
We like to think that after spending over $600 on a 24" LCD, users will get a high-quality experience. That may not always be the case, but at least with the Samsung 245T we have no qualms with recommending it as a very good 24" LCD. Perhaps a better recommendation however would be to try and purcha

Got this when i wanted a bigger screen and was sick of bad TN viewing angles. The screen works great with everything i use it for, but there is some inverse ghosting that all S-PVA's have. All in all a good buy

Upgraded from a 17 inch Viewsonic and it was fantastic. Great for watching movies, but also convenient to display 2 pages side by side when viewing documents. Have not detected any dead pixels nor non-uniformity so far and the color is still vibrant and true.

My current setup includes a number of dual-monitor workstations, with Samsung 930B 19", 2253BW and 226BW 22"W and the 245T. A couple of BenQ's were recently retired from use.
I also have a LaCie Blue Eye Pro, so the monitor has been properly calibrated.

I love this monitor, just love love love it! I upgraded from a 19-inch 191T Plus and I was happy with that so I wanted to stick with Samsung. I have one stuck pixel (in blue) but with a screen this size it is no big deal.
As one of Samsung's few S-PVA options, I can highly recommend the 245T. I wish there were smaller, less expensive S-PVA options, but 20/22" LCDs are now mainstream (read: cheap and nasty).
Now let me start of by saying the Image Quality of this baby is amazing. Colors are vibrant, image is sharp and super bright. Contrast is great too. I did not find the input lag that so many reviews talk about noticeable at all but there is heavy ghosting in fast moving games, not an issue for me as i did not get this for playing on. I love the various inputs, HDMI, SVHS etc and the usb hub is great to have on the screen but its a bit awkward to use as it is very easy to tilt the screen while plugging in a usb device into the out of place hub. My one quirk with this monitor is back-light bleeding in the corners. I dont know if all monitors of this model have the same intensity of it but mine has, specially in the top right corner quite the back light bleed. Its only noticeable when the screen is very dark or while watching movies with the black bars on top and bottom. Overall a great piece of technology but for the price i would have liked better prevention of the back-light bleeding. To hear the buzzing sound others have talked about i need to put my head to the back of the screen, so not an issue but one word of caution is the level of heat this baby emits from the back. I would not use this screen in very hot environments as it gives of more heat then my pc (e7200 s 9x400)

This monitor is worth every penny. Bright, great contrast, spectacular colour, no backlight bleed, a lift/tilt/swivel/pivot stand and all the inputs you'll ever need. The response time is more than adequate to avoid blurring in games, scrolling, fast motion etc.

This monitor replaces a LG 24" Widescreen LCD Monitor (W2452V). The Samsung SyncMaster 245T blows the LG away. The difference is night and day. I highly recommend this monitor for anybody who needs true colours for photo editing.

This is one of the best Pc monitor I saw in a long time. The black is really black. The build quality is really good, the frame feels solid but not too heavy. No dead pixels. The colors are vibrant. I did not experience the buzzing noise some users are reporting. I highly recommend it!

Upgrade from Dell SP2008, what a big different. Tried with XBOX360, much better contrast in black area. With the SP2008, I can only see a piece of black area without any details. Bought this monitor with the express coverage, but it doesn't have any problem. No dead pixels, light pixels. serious back-light bleeding. I am happy with it.
