INTRODUCING AUDACITY: A multi-track recording/editing studio
Audacity can record live audio through a variety of sources, such as a microphone, or line in on the Xtreme Sound card. Level meters help monitor volume levels before, during, and after recording. You can dub over existing tracks to create multi-track recordings.
You can Import sound files, edit them, and combine them with other files or with new recordings. Export your recordings in several common file formats, such as WAV and MP3.
Easy editing with tools such as Cut, Copy, Paste, and Delete.
Use unlimited Undo (and Redo) to go back any number of steps.
Edit and mix an unlimited number of tracks. Fade the volume up or down smoothly with the Envelope tool.
Remove static, hiss, hum, or other constant background noises from your recordings.
Alter frequencies with Equalization, FFT Filter, and Bass Boost effects.
Adjust volumes with Compressor, Amplify, Echo, Normalize and other effects.

With today's chipsets and the quality of on-board sound there is no reason to run this card, except to save a few CPU cycles. Their highlight was music playback, but other than that, the card just did not stand up to the HD on-board audio.

Got this to replace a failing on board sound card. I was bit worried about the compatibility with Linux (Ubuntu 11.04 I think) but it work flawlessly the first time without having to install any extra packages or go to the command line.

Bought this to upgrade my pc, wish i hadn't though. It froze the pc after installing and only worked when i swapped this for my modem and worked in that slot. After finally getting it to work i realized that the software nor the windows volume control had options for separate rear and front volumes which my on board audio has, which was a huge issue for me because my rear speakers are farther away.

Works as advertised. Simple card that can support up to 5.1 speakers. So far nothing with flaaking music or anything. Comes with drivers incase you can't find it, works well. INstallation was very easy took about 10 min. Easy to get to run. works with WIN XP. I haven' ttried this with vista, but probably will work. However vista is known to reject alot of drivers for no reason whatsoever.

Acheté en pricematch à $17 cette carte fournit du bon son 5.1 de base. Les logiciels fournit sont correct. Moi je ne peux m' attendre à mieux de la part d'une pareille carte à ce prix. Excellent si on a un vieux système qui a encore sont utilité mais qui gagnerait à améliorer le son. Je la recommande.
