MCR120 "Quiet Power" series Radiators
Designed in the USA One or more Patents Pending
Introduction
The MCR120-QP (Quiet Power™) is a heavy-duty liquid-to-air heat exchanger designed to be used with 120mm class fans, and specifically engineered for high-end liquid cooled Personal Computers. The Quiet Power™ technology is the result of months of research and development focused on optimizing thermal performance and audible noise characteristics with low to medium airflow types of fans.
The MCR120 -QP heat exchangers have been engineered to meet today's PC industry highest thermal loads, quality standards, and low noise requirements at competitive prices.
A dual 120mm version of the MCR120-QP is also available here
Features and Benefits
High Performance
Low noise
The new Quiet Power design yields higher performance than previous MCR120 model, and delivers ample heat dissipation headroom for the most demanding applications
Optimized for 120mm fans with low to medium output (80 CFM and below)
Flat brass tubes and louvered copper fins, with brass plenum chambers and frame construction, for optimum thermal conductivity.
Fin density optimized to reduce air noise
Flat frame surface provides optimum seal to the fans
Single 120mm form factor fits in most modern cases equipped with 120mm fan openings. G1/4 threaded barb ports. Patent-pending Self purging plenum chambers design: when installed upright or on its side, air cannot accumulate in the plenum chambers. Threaded fan and case mounting holes for quick and repeated installations. Slim form factor 6.2 x 5 x 1.3" (158 x 128 x 34mm) reduces bulk. No oxidation over time (compared to aluminum radiators). Beautiful and durable gloss acrylic paint finish. Competitive pricing with same class radiators (single row, 2 pass).
"MCR120-QP" Denotes the new Quiet Power series whereas "MCR120" or "MCR Old" denotes the earlier MCR120 models

In the above comparative curve, the MCR120 "Quiet Power " version shows a lower pressure drop (an improvement) at all flow rates over the earlier MCR120

In the above curves, we show the heat dissipation performance of the MCR120-QP with our Delta M class 120mm fan running at 12, 7 and 5 Volt. For additional reference, we also show: a high-flow/high noise Delta HE class fan, a low flow/low noise Papst fan, the MCR120-Old with our Delta M fan as a yellow curve, and Noise levels for all fans tested.
Knowing that typical Swiftech systems operate in the 1.25 GPM range, several observations can be made from the above:
With the same Medium output Delta M fan, the MCR120-QP dissipates ~5% more heat than the earlier version, across all "real-life" flow rates. There are little gains to be made from increasing the flow rates over 2~2.5 GPM. For extreme low noise applications, a"specialty " fan such as the tested Papst delivers comparatively better performance than an under-volted fan such as the Delta M. Nonetheless, the Delta at 7 Volts offers whipser-quiet operations while supporting the power range of most desktop CPU's on the market (120W) and maintaining only a 10°C temperature rise of the coolant over ambient air. We also see that the same is not true when the fan operates at 5v. At this low voltage, we can predict from the curve that any heat load in excess of 75Watts will cause the coolant temperature to rise above 10°C. The next set of curves will then be useful to calculate what the rise will be.

The above curves are very similar to waterblock C/W data and can be interpreted in the same fashion. They will allow users to estimate the temperature rise of the water in the circuit, based on the coolant flow rate.
We can use the curve of the Delta 1212M running at 5 volt to illustrate how to calculate the coolant temperature rise over ambient air. Assuming for example a Swiftech loop flowing 1.25 GPM, and a CPU heat load of 100 Watts, at 5v the C/W of the radiator would be 0.13, and the coolant temperature rise above ambient would be 100 Watts x 0.13 = 13°C.

I put this rad in my loop with a Feser 240 and it lowered my gpu temp by 10 C. My loop is Swiftech 655 ->CPU -> MCR120 -> 4870X2 -> Feser 240 -> pump. My temps are AMD 6000+ at 29 Idle and 4870X2 at 32 Idle. On load, both don't go above 40.

I got this to replace my crappy rad that only fit a 90mm fan. What can I say, there's a huge performance difference. My temps went from 35 at idle to 26. I am very happy,(although I had to mount it on the outside of my case) now I can push my overclock way further.

The unit NCIX shipped me came with some bent fits (the black ink also scratched off, exposing bare copper). The unit came in a blank box - probably shipped me a refurbished one (although description indicates new). Not impressed.

I bought this radiator to give a little room to cool more with a loop including a Q6600 at 3.6 GHz, 1 8800GTS 640MB with full cover block at 700/1000 and the northbridge with a EK NB/SB Asus 3 block. It works very well and it's not too restrictive (still more restrictive than a Thermochill but for the price, it's unbeatable).
I added this into the loop of my already crazzy water cooling system and it droped my idle temps by 2c and my load temps by 6c. Keep in mind i have a 1000rpm fan on it not that fast at all but dead silent. with a higher RPM fan the results would be alot better. I am also cooling CPU, GPU, RAM, North Bridge and hard drive.
I bought this hoping to mount it on my rear 120mm case fan internally but my asus p5k prem has a optional chipset/vreg cooler that stands up to high so Im going to drill some holes for the tubes to go directly into the case so the tubes are still inside the case. I got this top add to my water coling loop after my CPU to cool the water down some before it hits my graphics card.

I have H20 on my CPU and GPU and I plan to add chipset and mobo MOSFET cooling in the future. I bought this to attach after my CPU and before the GPU to remove the CPU heat before it reaches the GPU. This little rad is just what I was looking for.
