NCIX should be recommending these for every builder and system buyer. There isn't a better bang for the buck in terms of system stability and security, even if you're using this on your home entertainment system. It's also one of the few that's rated to handle close to a KW of power usage.
I had a difficult time getting this to communicate with my PC. The UPS communicates using an RS232 serial port. I was hoping for a USB solution, but eventually found success with a good serial card. I tried Opti-UPS USB cable, but could not get communications. Then I tried an nGear USB-COM bridge adapter - no luck. Finally I bought a StarTech serial board.

Got a good deal on pricematch and free shipping, good UPS for the price. Haven't had an power outage yet but I hope it performs as it should. Only thing that I don't like is the serial connection needed to the PC (mine doesn't even have the port) but I knew about that and still bought it.

currently i have it powering a 32" HDTV, my PC, and home theatre speakers. what can i really say? it works. i haven't had a power outage yet to really put it to the test, but so far, it's handling a pretty decent load without so much as a hiccup.
I don't know much about UPS, and this is my first one. Not much to say as this is exactly what I expected, super heavy (could be heavier than your computer) and well, at least feels rock solid.
The software is moderate, I've heard some other manufacturers makes better software. Nevertheless it works like any other device.

I just bought this from nicx, charged it up and it works seamlessly with my Enermax Galaxy psu! I was thinking it might not after reading some topics on this ups that Enermax active PFC psu's do not like simulated sine waves but I do not know why Enermax's site says that.. it works fine.
Overall, for what you pay, this UPS gets the job done. If I wanted anything better I'd have to get a True Sine UPS, and those cost around 3 times as much as this unit, so I can't really complain about anything.
It is a heavy unit, but there's no way around that, and so I don't view that as a fault of the product, but rather a fact of life.
