Basically they work - and for $2 PM.I use these for backup drives and so I do check-sums, and know that they work. I still have my 1990's Quantum SCSI drive, and HP negative scanner - and the hugely expensive cables.
While we've come a long way, remember that the weak point of these cables is that they are not locking. So push all ends home after any opening of case.

Great cable for the price, it wont slow down your transfers at all. It is also pretty reliable, and its a must have if you need an extension.

i knew those cables that came with the motherboard would do something until you lose them! so i had to buy these to connect my drives instead. plug it in and it works, good build quality too

It's a SATA cable that does what it's intended to do. I use it to connect a DVD burner. I wish it had one curved end. I bought two and paid less than $2 each. At the price I paid I can't really complain. It's not specified if it's a SATA3 cable, it must be SATA2.
